In 2023, Heston Finance Group once again has facilitated many financing transactions, despite the lower volumes in terms of transactions. The financing market remains active and vibrant due to several factors, such as :
• Rapidly rising capital market interest rates in 2022-2023, followed by a sharp decline in the past 2 months
• Adjusted investment mandates at various financial institutions
• Additional and evolving ESG financing criteria
• Geo-political landslides
• Proposed policy measures, especially for the residential sector
Overall, the real estate sector has presented an interesting playing field in 2023, following a slow start. Although it has not yet reached its full potential, the demand and supply are gradually coming closer to each other. Therefore we expect that stalled development propositions will start moving again in 2024. However, these are not easy puzzles to solve, and they require financial creativity and innovation.
